HAPPY 2009 and hoping it's going good so far.........

Very sorry if you have been trying to phone me and have got my voicemail, but at the moment it is very difficult for me to answer my phone...e-mails however are easy, and can usually be answered within the hour.

MY PHONE WILL BE ON FROM TUESDAY 6th JANUARY AND WILL BE UP AND WORKING THEN.

Looking Forward To Hearing From You.

Lots OF Love

New Year's Day is the first day of the new year. On the modern Gregorian calendar, it is celebrated on January 1.

So far in my knowledge, it's not incorrect, so – as the nice panda above said – why not?
Honestly I prefer Happy Christmas – for John Lennon's beautiful song, you know; on the other hand "merry" is a very pretty word, I think, for it sounds a bit ancient, oldish kind: it's more stressed before New Year than before Christmas (the last one's so common... we don't even notice it)... so let's go for your new formula!
